Seventeen years ago, the founders Marion xxx and Hermann xxx came to Mambo build on the mountain top MamboViewPoint. Their vision was to create a base for development cooperation. At that time, the village had no electricity, no clean water, and no running water systems. Childbirth was dangerous for both mothers and babies.

Over the years, Tanzania has changed and so has the Mambo area. Also thanks to their work together with local people. They have started many projects in infrastructure, health, education, and women’s empowerment. Marion and Herman are interviewed of some  ongoing projects.

As part of MamboViewPoint, there is also a safari company that can arrange and guide safaris for travelers. . Mkomazi National Park is only a few hours’ drive away.

At MamboViewPoint itself, you can meet the local artist Isaac, whose sculptures are authentic and original — not mass-produced souvenirs found in tourist centers.

The nearby Mambo village is a genuine Tanzanian mountain village, only a short walk away. You can explore it on your own or with a guide. People are friendly, and tourism has not changed their way of life. On market days, the village is lively and colorful.

What to Expect

You will see stunning mountain landscapes from many spots around MamboViewPoint: sunrises, sunsets, and the brilliant starry sky. Sometimes the sun shines above the clouds; sometimes you find yourself inside them. The weather changes quickly during the day. On clear mornings, you might even see Mount Kilimanjaro, 160 kilometers away.

You will experience peace and quiet, perhaps after a long and tiring journey. Because MamboViewPoint is far from the noise of cities and large tourist crowds, it is a truly unique resting place.

The houses at MamboViewPoint are high-quality and cozy, in a distinctly African way. They are clean, the beds are comfortable, bathroom with hot showers. You can sit in front of your house, relax, and enjoy the wide open views.
