Walk to the Kideghe falls

to Shagayu Natural forest
Check out the map with the route to the Kideghe peak

We take it the easy way and let us bring to Mpanga, a small village on a steep lope which you reach trough a bad mountain road from Mtae.

Mpanga lies close to the border of the thick Shagayu forest and is a perfect starting place to visit the Kideghe falls.

The fist part leads us via a nice mountain footpath which offers a nice view along Mtae over Mnazi and Mkomazi national park.
Huge trees rise high over us between densed wood.

Some later we enter the real wood and a nice winding path leads us up on the mountain.

Then we hear the noise of streaming water and from birds enjoying it. We reached the Kidehge falls!

Since the weather was warm we were in to a cold shower and the brave among us really did it!
I never thought that Africa had such a nice tropical rain forest!

On the way back we decided to walk the way from Mpanga to Mtae, where we met many people who just came by bus from Lushoto and were walking up with their luggage on their head to their home in Mpanga. Down with Mtae the Mambo car was waiting for us to bring us back home.

In the Shagayu forest you will find huge old tees of different kind. Those trees are there for many years and are very powerful.

In the Usambara Mountains it is possible to gain a little bit of that power! If you pass just put your hand on the tree and greet it with respect. A little bit of the power will strengthen you!

You don't believe it? Just come and check it out!
