Solar heaters

To heat water we are using solar heaters. However in this way the number of h
ot water is limited, especially during cloudy days, this is a good way to save firewood or gas.

Water source

Our water is coming from a natural water source in the rainforest. we made a pipeline of 4 kilometres together with the village. Together we enjoy the running water now.
However there is more than before the pipelines need to be extended in the future.

Use of rainwater

Around the main buildings we made gutters to collect the rainwater for use in the garden. Since we are still building the water tanks has to be made, but for sure are in the planning.

BioGas

With our biogas installation we make gas for the cookers in the Kitchen. We feed it with left overs from the kitchen and are producing fertilizer at the same time.

The installation is from SIMGAS Tanzania

Toilets

However our toilets are mainly flushing toilets we have water saving push buttons.

Eco toilet

Also we have a real eco toilet available with a view! Sawdust is used against the smell and to make better compost.

Stoves

In the evening it can be chilly and
some heating is comfortable
Because open fireplaces are not very economic we have small stoves. We choose a simple model which likely can be copied by a Tanzanian blacksmith

stove
For burning the stoves and a warm fire in the evening we use pressed sawdust blocks and leftovers from the saw mill.

Water for the region

However according to the number of people in the region there should be 90 water pumps, there are 9 only. MamboViewPoint tries to get new water pumps
